Thengapattinam beach got its name because of the abundance of coconut groves in the place. Thenga translates to “coconut'' in Tamil and Malayalam languages. The vast coastline and the azure blue waters of the beach are a favourite among the locals and tourists who seek gentle and tranquil beaches to laze around.
